ABOUT

Hi, I am Johanna, I am a researcher, consultant and workshop facilitator.

With a background in Futures Studies (MA), Philosophy and Media Studies (BA), I explore the impact of emergent technologies on culture and society and the role of art and design in mediating and engaging us in current and future issues. Next to my research, I lead workshops on futures of digitilisation and consult organisations on how our understanding of futures influences present capabilities. As a project coordinator, curator and consultant, I conceptualize cultural programs that link art, science, society to promote ideas for sustainable futures.

With 12 years of experience in cultural management, I have worked as artistic director, exhibition curator, communication specialist, and program manager. Previously, I co-founded two temporary art spaces and have directed and consulted international cultural projects in Seoul, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Berlin and Frankfurt a. Main.

Currently, I work as research associate and lecturer at the AI Lab at University of Art and Design Offenbach and teach at University of the Arts Berlin and University of Applied Sciences Mainz. Previously, I was associate researcher in the Public Interest AI research group at Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society Berlin. I hold an MA in Futures Studies from Freie Universität Berlin and a BA in Liberal Arts focusing on Philosophy and Media Studies from University College Maastricht and I was a visiting student at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea.
